This Privacy Policy describes how Unreeld ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use the Unreeld mobile application. We built Unreeld to help you use your phone more intentionally, and we take that same intentional approach to your data: we collect only what we need, we never sell it, and we give you full control to delete it at any time.

## Who We Are
Unreeld is an iOS app operated by Keaton Morehead, based in Utah, United States. Throughout this policy, "Unreeld" refers to the app and its operators collectively.

## Information We Collect
We only collect information you provide directly or that is necessary for the app to function. We do not use advertising identifiers, location services, contacts, HealthKit, or any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
### Information You Provide
When you create an account and use Unreeld, you provide:
- Phone number, used solely for account authentication via one-time SMS codes.
- Profile information: first name, username, optional bio, and optional profile photo.
- Onboarding responses: your stated intention, ten-year vision, and phone-use triggers, which are used to personalize AI coaching and reflections.
- Posts: text captions, photos, and videos you create and share in Unreeld's social feed.
- Comments you leave on your own and friends' posts.
- Reactions ("Reals") you give to posts.
- Friendships: records of who you have added as a friend and who has added you.
- Check-in responses: text answers to daily questions.
- AI chat messages you send within the app's AI chat feature.
### Information Collected Automatically
- Aggregate screen time minutes: total daily minutes of phone use, used to show you your own trends. Individual app-level screen time data stays on your device and is never transmitted.
- Device push notification token: used solely to deliver notifications from Unreeld to your device.
- Authentication session tokens: used to keep you signed in securely.
### Information Stored Only on Your Device
Some information stays on your device and is never sent to our servers:
- Per-app screen time data, managed by Apple's Screen Time framework.
- AI chat history, stored in your device's local Documents folder.
- Your Blacklist and Grey Area app selections, which apps you have chosen to shield.
- Cached images from the social feed for faster loading.

## How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Display your profile, posts, and reactions to your friends in the app.
- Deliver push notifications you have opted into.
- Generate AI-powered daily insights, reflections, check-in questions, and chat responses personalized to your goals.
- Show you your own aggregate screen-time trends.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the app.
We do not use your information to:
- Sell or rent data to advertisers or third parties.
- Build advertising profiles.
- Track you across other apps or websites.
- Share your data with data brokers.

## Third-Party Services
Unreeld relies on the following third-party services to function. Each receives only the minimum information necessary for its specific role, and each is bound by its own privacy policy.
- Supabase (supabase.com) — Backend database and authentication. Stores your profile, posts, comments, friendships, and related account data.
- Twilio (twilio.com) — Delivers the SMS one-time codes used to verify your phone number at sign-in. Twilio processes your phone number only for this purpose.
- Anthropic (anthropic.com) — Powers the AI features. When you use AI chat, daily insights, or check-in generation, the contents of your messages and relevant profile context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's API does not train its models on your data.
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — Delivers push notifications from Unreeld to your device.
- Apple iCloud — Used for a small amount of device-side state synchronization across your Apple devices, under your Apple ID. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
We do not share data with any other third parties.

## Data Retention and Deletion
### How long we keep your data
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Some specific retention rules:
- Daily check-in responses: retained on your device for up to 365 days, then automatically pruned.
- Cached screen-time reports: retained on your device for up to 90 days, then automatically pruned.
- AI chat history: retained on your device until you delete it or delete your account.
### How to delete your account and data
You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app:
1. Open your profile in Unreeld.
2. Tap the menu icon in the top corner.
3. Tap "Delete Account."
4. Confirm.
When you confirm deletion, we immediately and permanently delete:
- Your profile and all personal information
- All your posts, photos, and videos
- All your comments and reactions
- Your friendships
- Your push notification token
- Your rate-limit records
- Your authentication record
- All local app data on your device
This deletion is irreversible. There is no grace period. Once you confirm, your data is gone.
If you have difficulty deleting your account through the app, contact us at keatonmorehead@gmail.com and we will delete your account manually.
### Sign out vs. delete
Signing out of Unreeld does not delete your account. It clears session data and most local state from your device, but preserves your AI chat history and profile on your device so you can sign back in without losing them. Your server-side account remains intact.

## Your Rights
Regardless of where you live, Unreeld gives every user the same rights:
- Access: You can see all your information by using the app. Your profile, posts, comments, and reactions are all visible to you.
- Correction: You can edit your profile, posts, and comments directly in the app.
- Deletion: You can delete individual posts and comments directly in the app, and you can delete your entire account as described above.
- Data portability: If you would like a copy of your data in a machine-readable format before deleting your account, email us at keatonmorehead@gmail.com and we will provide it within 30 days.
- Withdraw consent: You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We comply with all CCPA requirements. Unreeld does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

## Children's Privacy
Unreeld is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at keatonmorehead@gmail.com and we will delete the information.

## Security
We protect your information using industry-standard security measures:
- All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
- Authentication uses secure phone-based one-time codes.
- API keys and secrets are stored server-side and never embedded in the mobile app.
- Access to our backend is restricted to authorized personnel.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Your continued use of Unreeld after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
